God’s Glory in Creation

Looking out on a clear night at the moon and the stars is a spectacle of amazing beauty and majesty. We cry out, “O Lord, how great Thou art!” As Psalm 19:2 says, “Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.” Viewing the vast creation, the many galaxies, each having their own orbit, no mere man could have conceived or thought of such a thing.

Yet, all this, and our knowledge of creation, cannot save us. Jesus Christ, the only name given under heaven by which we must be saved, is not known by this knowledge. For God’s people, this thought is a comfort, knowing that God in Jesus Christ is their salvation. The creation of heaven and earth, and all that it contains is upheld by the word of His power! When we come to realize this, we become as nothing before this great God.

God’s glory is an over-powering wonder. God’s people are looking to the one place where His glory is revealed most clearly: the hill of Calvary. “Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land. Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other” (Ps. 85:9–10). There our Savior opened the door to the heavenly Paradise. God’s beautiful creation has been ruined by sin, but His blood has washed all our sins away if we are His people. He is in heaven seated on His throne in all His majesty and glory as the King of kings, the interceding Lamb of God. Hallelujah, what a Savior.

Where does your heart and mind go when viewing the vast creation?
