The Board of Directors of the Canadian Christian Education Foundation announces the appointment of Fred R. Vander Velde as Executive Director of the Foundation.

Mr. Vander Velde will administer the affairs of the Foundation and be responsible for coordinating the fund-raising activities, promotion and public relations, future planning and development. In this capacity, he will be working closely with the Administrative Staff of the National Union of Christian Schools.

For the past eight years, Mr. Vander Velde has been associated with the Canadian National Exhibition as the Assistant Exhibits Manager, in which position he gained much experience in public relations. Hc has always had an avid interest in the Christian School movement.

Mr. and Mrs, Vander Velde have four children and are affiliated with the Burlington (Ontario) Christian Reformed Church,

1. What is the Canadian Christian Education Foundation Inc.?

The Canadian Christian Education Foundation Inc. is a nonprofit corporation designed to operate as a vehicle to provide funds for long term financial support of Canadian Christian educational projects, student and publications especially those projects, which cannot he undertaken or supported by an individual school or limited groups of Christian Schools in Canada.

2. What it does . . .

The program of the Foundation consists of encouraging study and research in the field of Christian education, financing curriculum studies and the publishing of Christian textbooks and teacher aids, sponsoring workshops, conferences, underwriting scholarships, and supporting the work of the National Union of Christian Schools.

   

3. How is the Foundation managed?

A Board of Directors composed of members constituted from across Canada which meets annually to conduct the Foundation’s affairs. An executive committee meets regularly between semi-annual sessions of the full Board of Directors.

4. How is the Foundation supported?

It is supported by gifts—money, real estate, stocks, bonds—legacies, gift annuities, interest from funds and investments.

5. Are contributions tax deductible?

Yes, the Foundation has been qualified as a nonprofit Corporation, under section 149 (1) (g) of the Income Tax Act, entitling to provide receipts for tax deductible contributions.
