Book Brief: A NEW SYSTEMATIC THEOLOGY OF THE CHRISTIAN FAITH

A NEW SYSTEMATIC THEOLOGY OF THE CHRISTIAN FAITH in one volume by Dr. Robert L. Reymond, Nashville, Thomas Nelson Publishers, 1998, 1210pp. Reviewed by Thomas Vanden Heuvel.

Dr. Robert L. Reymond is Professor of Systematic Theology at Knox Theological Seminary in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Previously he taught at Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis for 20 years. He holds BA, MA and PhD. degrees from Bob Jones University and has done doctoral and post doctoral studies in other seminaries and universities. He is an ordained pastor in the Presbyterian Church in America.

Dr. Reymond has given the church a contemporary, comprehensive, compelling and clear exposition of the Reformed Christian faith.

The author presents every doctrine of the Christian faith in the order of the Westminster Confession of Faith with a wonderfully exegetical and pastoral method. The inspired Scripture of both the Old and New Testaments is confessed to be without error and is used to buttress every doctrine. He shows how the teachings of the Reformed faith flow forth from the womb of Scripture. It is refreshing to have in one volume such a well-reasoned and user-friendly presentation of the faith once for all delivered to the saints. This volume is very beneficial for the pastor, catechism and Sunday School teacher, and anyone who wants to be well-informed about the Reformed faith.

This book is the best contemporary one-volume systematic theology available in the English speaking world.

Dr. Reymond has done the churcha great service.
